A model railway event without obstacles. And that during the weekend when the 1,5 meter standard disappeared from our society. That sounds like a recipe for success. Was it?
The crowds at the model railway days in Rijswijk were limited. To be honest, it was almost quiet on Saturday. This gave a lot of space to look at the various courses on display without pressing. A number of these jobs are in N scale. In general, I was not immediately enthusiastic about these (club) jobs. Visible damage and little eye for finishing in the details.
Fortunately, there were enough jobs left that provided a lot of inspiration. The layout with the NZH regional tram was a gem. Everything that could move moved. From boat to moving cars in N scale! There are some videos of this on my Instagram account .
A number of dealers offered N scale (1:160) model trains. Lots of analog and second hand. The prices were historically low in my opinion, 8-10 euros for a wagon. You wonder if there was anything to earn here. At modelspoor24.nl I found the last (wall) element I need for a project. She also confirmed that producers are slowly getting stocks back on track. Due to the large flow of ‘new’ – Corona – hobbyists, the demand has been high in recent times. Products were often scarce. According to a number of traders, these ‘new entrants’ do not really seem to take root. Demand is normalizing again.
Are you going to the Broodfabriek in Rijswijk again next year? It was fun for once, for me it’s not worth the two hour drive. Recommended if you have not visited a model railway event before. Next time to Houten.
